About the Company
Delve Bio is on a mission to improve patient outcomes and lower healthcare costs by bringing cutting-edge genomic technology to infectious diseases. We are a well-funded biotech company backed by some of the most experienced operators and investors in the industry. Our co-founders are highly experienced researchers, clinicians, and entrepreneurs, including Dr. Matthew Meyerson, MD. PhD (Director of Cancer Genomics at Broad Institute and co-founder of Foundation Medicine) and Dr. Joseph DeRisi, PhD (Professor at the University of California San Francisco and President of the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub). Delve Bio launched its flagship metagenomic next generation sequencing platform Delve Detect in 2024, providing game-changing, infectious disease testing to patients across the US.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to contribute to assay development in a small R&D team within a Series A diagnostics startup. The Delve R&D team works to improve the performance and sensitivity of Delve’s LDT (Laboratory Developed Test), which is run in a clinical laboratory separate from the R&D department. Most of the Delve team is remote, but this opportunity is an in-person lab-based role in a startup incubator in San Francisco. This is a temporary hourly contractor role beginning in June 2025.
You will work closely with R&D scientists to move product development forward and improve Delve’s methods. Examples of work may include evaluating new additions to the methodology, developing a plan for testing their impact on Delve’s LDT, executing experiments to incorporate them, and evaluating the resulting data.
